Choosing colours and patterns
When choosing a new carpet, match it to existing furniture to avoid having to replace expensive items such as suites and cabinets. Then choose lower cost items such as paint, wallpaper and ornaments to match the carpet.
Laying vinyl
When laying vinyl flooring around awkward corners or fixtures, warm the egde GENTLY with a hair dryer to make it easier to fit and reduce the risk of cracking.
Caution - over-heating vinyl could give off toxic fumes or cause a fire.
Shop around
You can save a fortune by comparing prices from several suppliers and buying individual items from whichever supplier is the cheapest. Check the total cost including delivery and VAT as some companies hide these extra costs to make you think they are cheaper.
